This is what happens...

when you go back to bed after Bode is awake. In case you can't tell, He took the stamps and stacked them all together. They are the sticky back kind so basically I have a pile of stamps. I was able to get them unpiled from each other though. No more naps for me.

Girls Camp

Well, Lex left for girls camp this morning. She was excited. She will be back on Friday. She took my camera so I won't be posting any pics unless they are older. We aren't doing anything around here other than the regular stuff. I am in charge of the BC 4th of July Parade so I will be doing some things like that in the next week and half. I also have Enrichment coming up. If anyone has any ideas for Enrichment let me know. We are always wanting to try something new. I did find out that Lacey Eppich Walker had a 10 lb baby girl sometime last week. Congrats to her and George. Other than that, I don't know anything!!

Red Letter Day

This is a red letter day, not that I want it to be but here we are living this moment and many moments from the past year. This date June 22nd, a year ago, Kollin was killed. It seems like just yesterday and also like it was a long time ago because so much has changed. Sara and Luke moved to Delta and then to Provo. Kollin's beautiful headstone was placed. We have a new baby. This time last year, we were just getting used to the idea that a baby was coming. I needed to go do all my lab work and had to go to town the day Kollin was killed. I called a few select people. Jenny because I was supposed to watch her kids or something and couldn't, Jill Mathews and Michele. I learned about 7:30 that morning that he was run over by a drunk driver. I was a wreck right then and like 5 people showed up at my house, Michele Casper, Jenny Hokanson, Mike and Joyce Rowley and the Bishop. I was sobbing because I had just gotten off the phone with mom telling her about some of the details of the accident. It was terrible. Then that next week was a whirlwind of emotion. My parents drove to Seattle and Sara's parent's flew to Seattle. Greg and Brooke were there with Sara and Luke. We didn't go to Seattle until Sunday. I felt like I really wanted to take the Sacrament. I think in Sara's ward is when the choir sang that beautiful hymn that I have come to love "Come thou fount of every blessing" They said everytime that someone arrived into Seattle, the crying would start all over again. Two things happened to me today at church
1. It was Cale Yount's Homecoming and I just kept thinking that Kollin had given his Homecoming report in Heaven to his Heavenly Father and a huge congregation of loved ones and friends. And a scripture stuck out to me that Cale quoted.
2. Mosiah 14:4-5 "Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Oh how my heart aches. Not that I don't think I will see Kollin again or that I don't think he's in a better place. Most days are ok. I can get through but some moments are very difficult to see the end, to feel peace or find peace and understanding. I ache for Sara and Luke and my mom and dad. I wish I could take their pains on me and yet someone has done that for them, Our Savior. Christ has born those pains and sadness. He has bought us with his blood and with his stripes we can be healed.

The circus

Lex won tickets to the circus and it was last night. We got in for free but NOTHING else was free. They charged for everything of course. And we were there waiting for rhte circus to start for 1 1/2 hrs. It was terrible. That's how they make their $, by giving rides etc. It cost $6 to ride little ponies, jump in a bounce house, $8 to ride the elephants. $5 for a snowcone, $3 for popcorn and cotton candy and $10 for a sword that lit up (you can get them at the $1 store). Anyway, that's where they get all their $. So we ended up paying $24 for the circus. The kids rode the elephant. It was SOOO hot in Trac too. And nasty because we went to the second showing so the floors were all sticky and nasty and it stunk like animals. The circus part was great. The trapeze artist were cool and there were black bears there that were really cool. They also had a low wire act that was pretty amazing. But just as it got started, the actual circus, it went for 45 mins then they stopped and opened up all their rides and pics with bears, etc and that was at 8:45 so we decided to leave. I'm sure they did something with the elephants in the show but we didn't see it. There were also cool horses.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day to the men in our lives. I really appreciate Eric. He is a great provider and husband. He's fun and likes to play with the kids. And he loves me and treats me good. He tells me several times a day how much he loves me even though I have a baby body and don't always do my hair or make-up. He loves to work which makes me happy because then I don't have to work. And he prides himself on doing a good job. He also relates very well to our kids are they are getting older. Lots of times he feels rejected because the kids would rather be with me then him but he will take them anyway and show them a good time and do things with them that I won't like hooky bob behind the PU or let them drive. I love Eric more each day.

To my dad. What a great source of strenght and spiritual guidance. He is also a hard worker. He loves to have his grandchildren all around reading to them and fishing with them and working with them. He's taking Erica's boys camping this week. What a great Gpa.

To Eric's dad. What an incredible example of loving his wife. Ray always says every time I'm with him howmauch he loves his wife. He is also a hard worker and has taught his children how to work hard. They worked really hard when they had the farm. I appreciate the knowledge and experiences that he has shared with us from his mission. Just amazing. (Of course, when I was trying to upload Ray's pic, it wouldn't work. Sometimes this blogger is a pain. I will try again later)

Temple Trip

Lex and Kam were able to go to the temple for the first time on Friday to do baptisms. They were both pretty nervous and excited. It was a great experience and they both want to do it again. When we were taking pics I told them to stand like they liked each other so that's why they have their arms around each other but at the end dad told them to quit being so lovy dovy. Funny!!

Happy Anniversary

It was my parents anniversary yesterday. They have been married for 40 years!! They met at Ricks college before my dad went on his mission and continued to write, etc. However, my mom dated and I think had a pretty serious beau. It's interesting how important it is to marry the right person. My dad came home from his mission and my mom was there. I think she told me once that she wouldn't want a girl there the day of or the next day of return from mission, yet Grandma let her come?? Anyway, they were married in the Logan Temple. They attended BYU and then I think they drove to the U of New Mexico to go to Vet school that fall and they hit the campus and turned around and left because of the lack of a good atmosphere. It was the 60's. Anyway, they ended up in Burley and ran a Stinker Gas station and then in Kuna farming with my Gpa Nielson. It probably seems like just yesterday that they were childless and carefree!! It took them a while to get preg and then they couldn't get the faucet shut down for a while. They are great parents and we are blessed to live close to them to share moments with them. Our kids get to know them well. Hope you had a great day.

6th Grade Promotion

Had a big party today after trying to get the slide show ready for a week and alot of stress, it's over, HURRAY!! I made Erica's kids come to the school to help decorate for 6th grade graduation or whatever you want to call it. Kam blew up over a 100 balloons with heluim. We had other kids from the 6th grade helping or else we would probably still be there. There are pictures of the columns, we made 4 of them and the there was a red carpet for the kids to walk on and balloons stuck on the floor. And random balloons around. I have no idea if it was over done or not. When I asked Lexi's teacher she said it was comparable to last year. Then others said way better decs the in times past. I had never seen decs from times past. For not wanting to even have a graduation, we sure went all out, I guess. It wasn't too much work other than the slide show. LOTS OF WORK. Somebody said that I should go into business decorating, I said no way, I'm too busy. Eric said "Yeh, then you would get paid for everything you do. I said I already do by making my kids happy. Sum can't wait for her promotion (Maybe that will be the year we stop doing it, I can only hope!!) Lexi will be in JR High next year riding that stinky bus to Connell. How I wish it wasn't so far. She has a b-day tomorrow too. Will post stuff tomorrow about the b-day. For some reason my pics all show up at the top of the post. I don't know what's going on, anyway that was our day. Thanks to the boys for helping. Oh yeh, Kam didn't get to come because he had to drive the baler. Poor guy.
