Enduring to the end

I went to an RS meeting and the secretary of the presidency gave this as a spiritual thought. (I think I need to have more thoughtfulness when it comes to the spirit)

When I used to picture enduring to the end, I pictured me at the end of my rope hanging on for dear life. Waiting to be saved, for the end to come.
During the lesson on Sunday it came into my mind that my Heavenly Father has prepared a way for me. I should put my faith in him and bot just hang on, but also climb. So enduring to the end doesn't mean to just hang on for dear life, but to realize that when you are at the end of your rope, you're going to wrong way. You should start climbing the other way and should you ever reach the top of that rope you should secure your rope to you and start pulling someone else up so their climb might be easier.
D&C 14:7 And if you keep my commandments and endure to the end you shall have eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God.
1 Corinthians 13:8 "Charity never faileth"
