Basketball is over

Basketball season is over for Lexi and Summer. I didn't get many pictures of Summer as she didn't get to play much but here are some of her and Lexi. The jumping one is one the girls gave to their coach as a thank you gift. Fun stuff.

Out with the OLD, in with the NEW

Well, we had an eventful weekend!! Eric and I LEFT ALL of our children with Gma Nielson and drove up to Portland to look for a new van. We had checked out a few in Portland and Seattle on Craiglist. We found something we liked and we are now owners of a new van (Old) van and a payment.
So out with the old

-Bye, bye red
-No more broken windowshield wipers (front and back) or as Bode asked does the new van have a wiper that will "sweep" the back window.
-Can now MOVE the front seat (with automatic controls) unlike the handle that was broken off of the driver's seat.
-The jack works, don't have to worry about not being able to change a flat tire now because I don't have a jack that works
-Oh yeh, the transmission jerking and making funny movements, not a problem anymore

-2, count them, 2 automatic doors that OPEN!! No more yanking on the handles til they fall off!
-Oh one of the best things-headlights that WORK! I can actually see when I drive at night.
-That big "homemade" TV/DVD combo that I had in my old van, gone!! Built in DVD player in the roof as to minimize conjestion to the front of the vehicle.
Also, leather seats (heated in the front) Stow and Go in the back, room for luggage or the seats will lay down without having to take them out. And a whole bunch more neat things that I haven't figured out yet.I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!!!

IT'S OVER!

Jump up and click my heels together!! The community dinner is over. After months of planning, pleading and preparing, the dinner is over. It came off with not much problem. There's always a fear of having not enough food. We did good, well we had alot of extra food. And the food was to die for. Cody Easterday cooked tri-tip on his big cooking b-bue and we had broccoli (cooked to perfections by Aunt Lana) with cheese and a baker (grown by Eric last summer and saved for this event) and delicious cake with ice cream. The entertainment was unbelievable. We had the marimba band from the elementary, the jazz and ensemble choir from the high school. SOOO GOOD!! The kids are so talented. We planned on serving 250 people and we served 200. Alot of the community came which was great because we got to thank them for being so kind to each other. I hope that others will come back next year. Oh and the decorations!! Well, here's some pics of it. Colleen Gray and Barb Winder did an EXCELLENT job. They designed and then had people helping like me and Maria and Lindsey K. Just a great time.
Homemade carriage (made by Rulon Gray out of PVP) Yes even the wheels are heated PVP into a round, AMAZING!!Front door opener, I did this oneThis is what 29 tables look like in the gymCastle from our enchanted evening that you couldn't see because band equipment was always in the way!!Table decors, I made the programs, pruple castle looking thing!!

LUCKY YOU!!

Lucky you!
The first TEN people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.It may be a story. It may be poetry, shoes, bags, or a little invention of my own! I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. Believe me... it may blow your mind!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 10 people who do the same on your blog. The first 10 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! (Or you don't have to do this just, post your picture after you've won)

f.y.i.

I'm going to be doing another gift away soon in honor of finishing the community dinner. Be watching for it!!

Belated B-days

I've been busy with the community dinner, Enrichment and ball games. Community dinner is an annual event put on by our ward each year to show appreciation to our community. Eric is actually in charge with a whole lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. I was in charge of entertainment this year and I think I about have everything nailed down. Hope so, it's in a week!! Enrichment, I don't even have time to talk about. I will tell more later, other than we have alot of fun ideas that have to do with the next big project that Eric is in charge of, our ward trek!! More to follow at that too. Anyway, games. Summer and Lex both had games in Connell last night. I got to see Summer play BB with her team going into overtime to win. And then rush to the Jr High to see Lex sit on the bench while her team went into overtime and lost (against Othello, the rivalery is already there! SAD!! It's fun to be friends, not enemies just because you go to a different school.). Bode has started wrestling also. He wants me to go with him to practices but I tell him I don't have a clue what I'm doing let daddy help. My schedule also includes vinyl. Hope everyone is well. Happy birthday to Marilyn Jen, Jill (the only pic I could find of Jill was of her toe!!)and KacheHope they were great! And to Makayla soon!!
