Footprints and Fire

One night a couple weeks ago, our fire got out of control and it burned our grass. Now you can't get to the garbage cans without walking through the soot of the fire. Here's the evidence that someone didn't realize their feet were dirty until they hit the carpet and then with one big wipe, hoping to get all the black off of their feet onto the carpet, they left a huge stain that I haven't been able to get out yet. I think I'm just going to go down town and get new flooring and then put it in myself. I'm so sick of this yucky carpet and it doesn't come clean. In case you were wondering it was Summer who tracked it in. But I did it last night, I just realized it before I hit the carpet. Lexi had kitchen floors this morning and she had to wash them twice. Needless to say, she wasn't too thrilled about washing them again. You really have to scrub to get the black off. Summer threw her shoes outside. I'm going to try to wash them to see if the soot will come off. It seems like when you get it wet the harder it sticks.

Can't see the cowboy

I've had complaints that the cowboy can't be seen.

Eggs, goats, piggy tails and a real cowboy

We had a pre school field trip to Easterday's farm which has many different animals including long horned cows, beef cows, chickens, a single duck and a ton of pigs. And of course, a cowboy, who has goats and a pony whose name is Pony. The kids were able to feed the goats and Pony and then we went and saw the chickens and looked into the coop at their nests and eggs and looked at the duck that also lays eggs that Easterdays eat. Then we went to the VERY smelly pigs and saw the teen-agers who were very wild and unruly and fighting the whole time and to the nursery where about 20 mamas had new babies. We really stunk to high heaven after getting out of the pig barn but the best part was when we saw the cowboy, who is John, we just call him the cowboy. Kaden Rowley (Mike and Joyce's boy) said, "Is that a REAL cowboy." I said "Yes" He said "Well, where's his cowboy hat?" He was wearing an Easterday hat. Anyway, they all wanted to have their pic taken with a REAL cowboy then. We all had to go home and take bathes and wash our clothes but the kids had a great time. This morning when Bode woke up he asked, "Where's preschool at today?"

Easter dresses

Here are the kids in their Easter-day clothes. To get that soft hue to your pics use your camera when it's cold and the lens keeps fogging up. You can tell that Brek is loving this photo session.

I'm a blonde

Or at least I'm covering up my gray. Brek really took a toll on my hair and I'm very gray. I also got it cut. It isn't done in these pics. Hopefully, I will take some more when I do do my hair.

Easter-day

My kids had a fun Easter Day. We had a picnic in the house with Gma & pa Nielson (at our house) Lexi and Bode hid then eggs then all 3 of them found the eggs. The girls and I made the whole meal on Sat which included chicken, mashed tatoes, green salad, strawberry shortcake & veggie bars. We also made ice cream cake for Freeman's the next day. We stayed very busy. Sunday we had a get together with all the Freeman cousins. I think there was over 230 eggs hidden in Gma's yard. Everyone was supposed to bring 10 for each kid. Lexi did hunt eggs on Sunday though. She's growing up. It was too cold to have the pinata so we had it on Monday. Just prolonging the candy high. Next year we are going to put vegs in the pinata.

Brek, Parker and Camilla

Most of the Freeman's came home for Easter weekend. Chaelaine, Charie and I are the lastest ones to have babies. Charie's baby, Camilla is this tiny little girl. She is so small and petite. We started talking about how much everyone weighed and of course the boys out weigh her by a pound. Brek and Parker are right around 12 pounds, Camilla is around 10-11 pounds. Brek and Parker were born 2 days apart and camilla was born the first of Nov. Anyway, we got some cute pics of them together.

Ice Skating

Our ward had an ice skating party last night at the Toyota Arena. The ice skating rink ended up thinking that they were talking to the same ward and booked us and another ward to skate. And you will never guess who's ward it was!! Keisha Johnson's it was just their mutual but she's in mutual. I could even remember who she was. Here are some pics of my kids skating.

I'm feeling a little better

as long as I keep the meds in me. We are going ice skating tonight as a ward. Hopefully, I won't break anything but wouldn't be surprised if I did. I will be posting pics tomorrow maybe. I have to teach pre school tomorrow and haven't done a thing and also Sum got her scaffolding put into her mouth. She doesn't want to eat anything hard because it hurts. It will be interesting to see how things start to change in her mouth.

New carpets!!

I wish!! It's just an area rug. I love the shag look. If and when I get new floor covering I will blogging like crazy!! And shout with a big hurray that you can hear from where ever you are.

Here's a bit of wisdom!!

Ok, get your wisdom teeth out when you are young and can handle it and when your parents will pay for it too. Actually I just home from the dentist the deadening hasn't worn off yet so I'm still felling good. Gma took Bode so all I have is Brek. I hope that I'm feeling ok after all the meds where off. It only took about 10 minutes to get 4 teeth out. It took longer to get deadened. And my teeth were HUGE!! and rotten looking, yuck!! My ears were even numb. Here's what I look like. I don't feel as bad as I look. I can't smile and I'm starving but maybe I can loose a little weigh in this whole process. I think that the deadening makes you swell up!!

Kickin' up your heels

Eric had a close call the other day. He was looking for one of his workers and the cowboy asked him to jump into a pin and help keep the steers from going a certain way. It had been raining so it was wet and slick. He jumped in and a steer started toward the hole so he ran and it being slick he slipped on the wet and started falling down. Right at that moment the steer kicked up his heels and he kicked Eric right in the mouth. No he didn't lose any teeth. The cowboy was really worried. All he did was cut his lip. It seems like if something bad is going to happen when it comes to those cows, it will happen to Eric.

Grease Lightning

Lexi did the talent show at BC Elem. She and about 100 friends danced and sang to We go Together. the end song on Grease. They had a fun time and I think they learned alot about getting along and working together. Here is a little clip of it.

Bodeism

Another cute Bode ism. I noticed a couple of days ago that Bode was getting freckles and I said "You're getting freckles like Lexi and Summer on your nose." He didn't think anything about it but today he was looking in the mirror and he said, "I am getting pok-a-dots like Summer." Very funny!! His face is covered with chocolate but if you look close you can see his pok-a-dots.

Brek's blessing

Brek was blessed on March 9, 2008. Eric did a good job and alot of people told that it was really good. Brek didn't cry too much. Eric talked a little about Brek being named after Kollin and how Kollin was a great missionary and inspiration to all. I think alot of people were crying during that part. We took some pics after church and as you can see Bode, was being Bode. He looked the best in this one so I thought I would post it. All the Nielson's close came and all the WA Freeman's except Ray and Di. Tyson and Shannon were there also. It was a fun weekend. Bret and Jen came so we got to play with our cousins. Brek's outfit is Ebay, not homemade. He blanket was though, out of minky and flannel. So soft. Almost done with the craziest. I might be able to calm down except Lexi has talent show, I'm getting my teeth cleaned and moles removed. And it RS this week. Next week is pre school, wisdom teeth pulled for me and Brek shots. Taxes have to be done in there sometime too. I hope I can get it all done.

Community Dinner is OVER!!

Horray!! After months of planning and a week of shopping and decorating, the Community Dinner is over. I'm thrilled although I haven't been able to crash yet because we had Brek's blessing on Sunday and on Tuesday is RS B-day dinner. The CD was great. Other than not alot of people came. But a lot of non members. The entertainment was better. We saw Abbott and Costello (Who's on first), Elvis, the Beach Boys, Napolean Dinomite, and High school musical. The meat was good and the cheesecake was great. It was just a fun evening. Here are a few pics of the decorations. Colleen Gray did them.

Hallway by the nursery

Stage The theme was Cruisin thru the Decades. We had talents from the 30's to the 2000's. Fun

This is funny

This one is for everyone who...
A) has kids
B) had kids
C) was a kid
D) knows a kid
E) is going to have kids.
I guess that means all of us!!
DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS
I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she said,"Daddy, look at this" , and stuck out two of her fingers
Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny fingersin my mouth and said, "Daddy's gonna eat your fingers," Pretending to eat them.
I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face.
I said, "What's wrong, honey?"
She replied,"What happened to my booger?"

Watch out! I might break it!

This morning I had quite the morning. First I was fixing breakfast and trying to get some plates out of the cupboard. I dropped two of them. One I was able to stop on the counter but the other one bounced once and then SHATTERED and I mean shattered into a billion pieces. Not a half an hour later I was walking in my bathroom. I bumped the "perfume shelf" with my shoulder (it has all of Eric's colonge on it). All the jars fell to the floor and the one on the bottom of the pile shattered (I'm sure you can smell the scent from where you are it's so strong here). Eric had to change his clothes because it splashed all over him and he didn't want to smell like one of his hired guys (if they don't get to shower, they just cake on the colonge). Needless to say, I'm worried I might break my baby or my leg or something today. Hopefully everything will survive me.

Bode-ism

Ok for all of those who know Hannah Montana. We like her in our house-filled with bigger girls right now. Anyway our antenna is about 30 feet in the air (that's a blog for another day) and when the wind blows, it turns and our TV stations go out. The other night that's what happened. Bode wanted Eric to fix it so he came asked me to ask dad to fix it. This is what he said "Mom ask dad to fix the "Hantenna". A little Mylie Cyrus on the brain.
