Last night we had Stake Enrichment Meeting. Aunt Kaye Freeman spoke about being happy or at peace even in hard times like a death or sickness. I thought I would share a sweet memory from my childhood that I often think about when I'm not feeling really good.
Do you remember when we had to build fence in the spring or weed crops? I loved Saturdays when it was Fast Sunday the next day because mom would make fried chicken and mashed potatoes for lunch and we would have a big lunch as a family and then start our fast. I can still remember that memory of the chicken frying in mom's eletric skillet when we walked into the house after working that morning. It was fun to be with my sisters and brothers. Probably I was with Erica and Kristin the most. We would talk about all kinds of things while we worked. It was very rewarding also to see a finished project or make it to a certain point in the field or just make it to lunch time. I don't think that the little kids helped much but I sure remember that Erica and Kris and I built alot of fence. Share some of your sweet memories on your blog. I will be posting more later.

Feed my Sheep! Not my dogs!!
Ok, this is what 1500 sheep look like walking past your house. This is their second time in front of our house. The first trip, as they were going past, the dogs decided they would like to eat our cats. Lexi cat got picked up pretty fast. But it laid really limp as the owner and others chased it around trying to catch it. As soon as one dog would drop the cat, another dog would pick it up. Finally someone picked up the cat and brought it back to safety. Yesterday, the sheep herder stopped by and told us that he would be bringing his sheep back by so we could protect our cats. Thank you for the warning. As for the cat, it survived but I think it had diarrhea for a few days.

Summer-ism
Sum has a lot of Summer-ism because of her thick accent. She had to give a talk in church. She told Nephi's story about when his bros tied him up on the ship and she said they tied him up with cards. I said you need to say cords, ok cards, no cords, cards. And there you have it. English through and through.

Lexi-ism
Our home teacher asked us what are the 3 things that a new convert needs. He gave us a clue by saying 1. A friend (the other 2 are a calling and to be nourished by the word of God) Lexi's reply was A Friend, A New Era and An Ensign (the 3 things a new convert needs) Too funny!!

Is there a book on motherhood??
Ok, you think I would have this figured out by now?? I lay down with my baby and wonder "Ok, how long do I need to lay here?" For 5 minutes? Or maybe until he's not moving anymore? Or maybe when he's snoring or breathing hard? So I think that I've waited the right amount of time and I move just an inch to the edge of the bed. He squirms, so I lay really still for a few minutes. Then I move a little closer to the edge of the bed. Then he starts rooting. This goes on for a half an hour. Finally I decide, ok I'm just going to get off the bed in one SMOOTH movement. Yeh right!! Remember you've just had a baby and a smooth movement is the farthest thing that your body can do right now. Instead your like an elephant clumsily lumbering out of the bed. So even if your baby was asleep, he's not now!!

Leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again. Eric got to fly on Easterday's PRIVATE plane to CA to go to a farm show?? He's gone just for the day. How weird is that to have a plane? It's his first time going on it though. I think Cody flies on it all the time especially to Canada to their feedlot up there. Can't wait to hear what it was like.

2 weeks
Brek had his 2 week appointment. He weighs 8 lbs and is 21 inches long. He's gone through a huge growing sprut. Lexi is sick and I'm trying to keep her away from Brek. Hopefully he will get through this without getting sick. I'm a little nervous. Grandma Gray past away and her funeral is tomorrow. I don't know that I will stay for the whole thing. I have to provide a salad for the dinner. I think I will go and sign the book though. Other than that, we are very boring.

My closet is put back together
but my room still needs work. Brek has his days and nights messed up big time. He sleeps for like 4 hours at a time during the day and at night he sleeps for 45 mins or less. Any suggestions? Some sad news. An Ashton boy a junior or senior at Othello was killed last night in a car accident. He was traveling from Tri-cities to Othello. I will let you know more details when I know them.
